Leadership by empowerment?

Wayne Goldsmith asks “What’s all this leadership by empowerment stuff all about?”

Here’s his introduction …

Leadership groups, leadership teams, player leadership teams, team councils………
What’s going on here? Players making decisions? Players leading? Players taking ownership of their training and playing programs?
What’s all this empowerment stuff about?
What does engagement mean? Is someone getting married?
And what the hell is a leadership group?
I thought coaches coached, managers managed, fans cheered, doctors doctored and players played.
All of sudden every AFL, rugby, football, cricket, netball and rugby league team has embraced a player empowerment leadership model. Five years ago, most of us couldn’t even spell it.

Love it!!

Nevertheless, what follows is an excellent article on leadership. Yes it’s written from a football/sport perspective, but could apply equally well in any group or organisation. Well worth the read!

The Secret Of Successful Visualizations…

Time and time again I hear from good people who are fed up, frustrated, and just plain discouraged about their ability to reliably manifest what they want in life.

Do you ever feel like that?

If so, you’re not alone. And even if you’ve gotten your brain wrapped around the concept of the Law of Attraction and are whole-hearted in your manifesting efforts–you still may have the nagging feeling you’re not quite hitting with all cylinders.

That’s why I’d suggest you take a few minutes to watch this…

[How To Multiply Your Manifesting Power]
http://bit.ly/cTrtmW

For one thing, you’ll hear from none other than Bob Proctor–one of the key people from The Secret. Bob has been at this a long time–decades in fact–and he’s pretty much got the whole visualization thing dialed in.

One of the things Bob talks about are some of the most common misconceptions about visualization, and boy can I relate.

I remember when I first began exploring the Law of Attraction. I pretty much made ALL of these mistakes! For example…

1.You make some effort to practice visualizations for a few days–but nothing happens. So you decide it’s a waste of time and stop. And guess what? Nothing happens. Duh.

2. You think you have to spend hours every day intensely focused on the things you want most. You settle down in the Lazy Boy and have at it–and you either fall asleep, get a pounding headache, or start thinking about a problem you’re having at work. What a hassle–no wonder you’ve given up!

3. You’ve painstakingly glued a vision board together and you stare at it every day. You don’t want anyone to know this, but you’re bored. This whole activity is dull as dust and you don’t feel much of anything except distracted.

4. You’re not completely sure visualization will work–so you figure it’s not worth trying unless you are 100% certain something wonderful will happen.

In fact, you’ve perfected “why bother” into an art form. Any of these things sound familiar? Well here’s the good news…

[Bob's Got The Answers--And It Will Change Your Life]
http://bit.ly/cTrtmW

Here’s one of my favorite quotes from this video…

“Even if you don’t believe in it–do it anyway. My attitude is: if your way isn’t working, try mine. I’m doing all right. I’m healthy, happy, and I’m wealthy. I earn more money in one hour than I used to in twenty years. So I must know something. And I know that this works.” ~Bob Proctor

I sincerely hope you find this as encouraging as I do–because the thing is, even if you’re not sure visualization will work for you and result in successful manifesting–just do it!

Give it a try and see what happens.

But not for just a day or two–or even a week or two.

What you’ve got to do is make the commitment to spend a few minutes on this every single day–and I do mean EVERY DAY! Maybe even morning and night–but consistently make the effort.

Because according to Bob (and he should know!) it’s the REPETITION of your visualizations that add up to a grand slam eventually.

He explains it all so clearly and much better than I ever could. But it has to do with the repetition creating a new frequency–a new vibration that then changes your actions–and then opens the door to what you want being attracted into your life.

Make sense? You bet it does! And no worries about how to wedge it into your schedule, because you don’t have to spend a lot of time on it either.

Just a few minutes a day will do it IF you do it the right way.

All you have to do is follow the simple strategy Bob explains in this video. It’s easy. And when you do, here’s what happens…

[You Become A Powerful Manifesting Magnet]

http://bit.ly/cTrtmW

It’s exciting and it’s totally achievable with a very simple shift in your thinking and actions–believe me, I’ve personally experienced how powerful this is and it is truly the key to creating your most perfect destiny.

I don’t want to give away all the goods here–so just take a minute and watch the video OK? In the next ten minutes you could literally have the keys to the kingdom.

To your manifesting success,
Bronwyn

P.S. Have you ever gotten so excited about something you had a kind of tingle at the core of your being? Or you just felt like every nerve ending was on high alert?

That’s what happens when you experience strong emotions. And here’s a hint–those emotions have EVERYTHING to do with creating successful visualizations.

And now Bob is going to explain exactly how you can access that fantastic energy to supercharge your visualizations.

[See It. Feel It. GET It Right Here]

Live with Integrity and Honesty Anyway

Using Mother Teresa’s poem Anyway, in conjunction with the song Anyway, by Martina McBride is a perfect depiction of living a life of integrity. We hope this video helps you realize that you are a gift, just by being you.

The Art of Persuasion

The Godfather may be able to make people offers they “can’t refuse,” but for the rest of us persuasion will get us much further than force. The ability to influence people without threats, bribes, or manipulation will greatly assist in your negotiations. While negotiation involves reaching an agreement on price or specific terms of a contract, persuasion involves getting people to go along with your point of view or to see it your way. Good negotiators are also good persuaders. The skills go hand in hand. Persuasion, just like negotiation, involves much more than we can cover in this small section, so let us look at some of the personal characteristics you can develop to become more persuasive and charismatic.

Charisma is hard to define. It is the rare quality that makes people like you; makes them want to follow you, to be around you, to be influenced by you. Some people seem to ooze with it, while others could not seem to buy it if they were millionaires. Think of our most popular leaders and celebrities, Presidents like Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy had charisma. Actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Denzel Washington have charisma. “The Apprentice” star Donald Trump certainly has charisma. Charisma is the quality that makes people like you, and while a certain amount may be inherited, there are things you can learn and do to increase your charisma and by doing so become more persuasive.

One of the simplest ways to develop charisma is to treat each person you meet as the most important person you know. When it comes down to it, the person who you are dealing or communicating with is the most important person in your world at that time. So treat him or her like it! One of the easiest ways to gain cooperation is to be genuinely interested in the person you are communicating with. Greet people with animation and enthusiasm while showing a genuine interest in them. Continue to treat each and every person as the most important person you know, and you will not only develop more friends in life, but also loyalty from employees, loyalty from customers, and people discussing your charisma. People are our greatest resource, and people are what make the world go around. So treat people well, be genuinely interested in them, and you will reap many rewards in return.

Another very simple way to develop and increase charisma is to smile. In “How To Win Friends & Influence People,” Dale Carnegie wrote, “Charles Schwab told me his smile had been worth a million dollars. And he was probably understating the truth.” A smile says “I like you.” It is a universal gesture, and one of the first learned. Smile at a three month old baby and what does the baby do in return? Smiles back. There is an ancient Chinese proverb that says, “A man without a smiling face must not open a shop.”

Along with your smile, develop a handshake that is neither limp nor crushing. While Donald Trump may prefer the Asian custom of bowing over the handshake, you can bet when he shakes someone’s hand, it is firm and projects charisma. This is one of the reasons Sam was so awe struck when Trump shook his hand and wished him luck in week three of season one. A good, firm handshake, looking into the eyes of the person you are shaking hands, will go a long ways in establishing charisma.

Charisma is non-verbal, and that means looks matter. But if you were not blessed with good looks, all is not lost. There have been extremely charismatic and influential leaders that many would call ugly. The key to charisma is doing the best with what nature gave you. Everyone can take care of themselves and make sure their appearance is the best it can be.

Along with your charisma, develop a dynamite sense of humor. Even hostile people can be won over with the use of humor. A great sense of humor goes a long way toward persuading someone, and it can be used as a way to point out to the other person he is wrong without causing offense. The ability to laugh at ourselves and find humor in life goes a long ways toward making life more enjoyable. This in turn can decrease stress and prevent burnout. This does not mean you should be a stand-up comedian at all times, cracking jokes left and right. Do this and you will not be taken seriously, and you will have trouble developing the credibility of a person who takes things seriously. However, understanding humor, seeing the humor in life around you, and being a person with a great sense of humor will assist you in your persuasion of others.

The final point regarding persuasion is to increase your ability to remember names. Nothing is more important to people than a person’s name. Develop an ability to remember names, and you will increase your persuasive power tremendously.

3 Tricks to Suppress Your Appetite

Jon Benson just sent me a killer email describing 3 easy ways to curb your appetite.

This is eye-opening… so enjoy!

3 tricks to suppress your appetite

Article:  “3 Reasons Dietplans Fail YOU”:
http://www.everyotherdaydiet.com/go/bronwynr/3-reasons-diets-fail-you

—————————————————————–|

Another good article appeared today in the fitness section of MSNBC.

Since you’re busy, I’ll do a quick summary of the article — the good
stuff, the bad stuff, and what you need to do today to get started…

First, you need to know this…

And this will probably shock you…

Rarely, if EVER, do you need to suppress your appetite!

The real secret is to increase your metabolism… the rate at which
your body uses food for fuel.

Then being hungry is a good thing… as long as you’re eating the right
foods at the right time.

Jon Benson’s “Favorite Foods” plan is a great way to do this…

http://www.everyotherdaydiet.com/go/bronwynr/video3 <== click.

But let’s say you want to curb your appetite at night…. that’s the
time most people really lose it on a dietplan. Even on a plan that
ASKS you to eat frequently like mine, there are times where
night-time cravings need to be put to sleep.

So use these tips from the article to ease the urge to eat at night:

1. Protein First

As Jon stresses in his dietplan, “Rise and shine with protein.”  But
what does this have to do with night-time cravings?

Everything.

Set the body up to use your own fat-stores for fuel by eating protein
in the morning and your appetite FOR fatty foods goes way down during
the day and the night. Protein is “thermogenic”, meaning it helps
increase your metabolism. It also acts as a natural appetite regulator.

Notice I said “regulator” and not “suppressant.” That’s because you
only need to regulate your appetite, no matter how much bodyfat you
desire to drop.

Jon explains more here:

http://www.everyotherdaydiet.com/go/bronwynr/video3 <== click.

Cool, right?

2. Go For The Grapefruit

In a study at the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center at the
Scripps Clinic in San Diego, people who ate half a grapefruit with each
meal lost an average of 3.6 pounds in three months. That doesn’t sound
like a lot (and it isn’t) but that’s ALL they changed.

It doesn’t matter for our purposes… we want to lower insulin at
night. Why? Insulin is not only dangerous for your health in excess but
it also can cause a LOT of fat storage if secreted too much at night.
Enter the lowly grapefruit.

A great snack, especially if you have a few bites of lean protein
with it.

3. Smell This!

This is a trick I didn’t know about until recently.

Smelling food can trick your brain into thinking you’ve eaten.

A recent study found that those who inhaled peppermint in scent form
every 2 hours at (get this) 2700 calories LESS per week than they
normally did.

Let me put that in perspective:  That’s a fatloss of more than half a
pound a week… from sniffing peppermint!

Vanilla also works. You can keep vanilla-scented drops or even candles
around the office and take a wiff every few hours.

How easy is that?

————————————————–
The Bad Part
————————————————–

The MSNBC article goes on with advice like “eat potatoes” and “eat just
a little bit of fat”, both of which are nonsense.

Potatoes may fill you up, but they are still starch – and starch should
be consumed on your “off” days.

Potatoes are especially bad due to the higher-than-desired glycemic
index of 85 (anything over 50 is too high.)

You also need dietary fat… and not just “a little.” You need a
moderate amount to stay healthy and keep insulin regulated.

Olive oil and even coconut oil are excellent sources, as are naturally
occurring fats in fresh fish, grass-fed beef, farm-raised chicken and
whole eggs.

The rest of the article is common sense stuff:  Workout, eat dense food
that requires you to chew a lot (tire out the jaw muscles and you
naturally eat less), etc.

The top 3 are the real winners.

Sincerly,

Bronwyn

P.S.  You may be wondering, “How do you eat your favorite foods (like
pizza or burgers) and still stay so fit?”

The answer is here:

P.P.S.  I found another really good article you may want to check out
as well. It’s all about how dietplans fail YOU… and this may do more
than relieve some “guilt” you might have over the start/stop dieting
so many of us have gone through.

Manage Your Email so that it Does Not Rule your Workday

If you sit at a computer for most of the day, it’s tempting to constantly check your e-mail to see what’s new.

But that’s a time management disaster if you’re trying to make progress in your business.
